Name: Vlarindara Windrunner
Alias: Vlar, Ghost (To be explained)
Gender: Female
Birthplace: She doesn't remember.
Alignment: Chaotic Good.
Age: 3 Years: February 10, 2008
Fur Color: Snow white in winter and summer both.
Eye Color: Amber
Species: Mackenzie Valley Wolf
Physique: Large: 33Inches at her shoulder.
Description:
At three winters old, Vlarindara can be considered large for her breed - she had even grown a few inches taller than her own mother! As a Mackenzie Valley Wolf, she tops out at thirty three inches at her shoulder. Her form is covered in thick, ivory fur, without a single patch of darker tint until it reaches her nose, her eyes, the very tip of her tail, and her claws. Her nose starts as a light pinkish tone nearest her muzzle fading and darkening into the normal black of a wolf's nose - the darkest spot on the wolf. Her eyes seem to have taken on the spun, copper/gold color of amber, darkest near the iris - almost brown, and lightest on the outer rims.. a brilliant spun golden amber. Her tail is tipped with a darker shade of grey, lighter than black, but still darker than the rest of her pelt. Her paws and ears are both large in comparison, the white triangles that make her ears usually held folded back over her neck. It's simply comfortable, as they tend to be slightly floppy in comparison to most wolves, so rather than being aggressive, it's simply a normal position for Vlarindara.
The fur around her flanks and haunches seems to be thinner and more coarse than the rest of her coat. To any wolf interested to get close enough, they would find that scars litter her flanks, haunches and muzzle - causing her fur to grow randomly in odd patterns and not as thick or fully as the rest of her coat. There is a particularly deep scar that is completely void of any fur growth over her shoulders. The hardened, wrinkled skin above her shoulders seems to be centered around the middle of her fur, as if something had gone through it, rather than simply scraping down it. At times, she may be seen with a slight limp or stiffness in her front legs when she walks. It seems to dissipate the more she does walk, however. It does *NOT* seem to impede her movement once she has 'warmed up' the scar and muscles around it.
Despite her larger size, and the white coloring of her coat, this wolf almost seems as if there is something of the domesticated husky in her bloodline though she is full blooded to her knowledge. Her tail curls up over her back in a tight circle when she holds it up in a more aggressive and dominant posture. The tighter the curl, the more tense the female seems to be. When she is relaxed and content, her tail simply falls to her feet and may occasionally be seen wagging in response to some of the wolves around her.
Personality:
Knowing the life of a lone wolf for much of her adult life, Vlaridnara has become a little more than suspicious of strange wolves. In general, she does her best to stay as far away from them as she can due to several factors of her life. Her suspicion has also led her to be highly stand-offish should she perceive a threat of some sort. She has been known to stand alone in front of a bear and defy its gnashing teeth - at least until she was ushered away by another wolf. She knows that for the wolves she has taken responsibility for, she would do anything needed to keep them safe - including putting her own life on the line to do so. She's quite the mothering figure, despite never have had pups of her own.
Beneath the stand-offish exterior, Vlarindara is really quite gentle to those she loves and considers friends. Even to the odd acquaintance, the female would do most anything to keep them safe. She seems to have a chip on her shoulder when it comes to being unable to protect someone, or something. She's not real sure why she has the drive to care for others without their request - be it hunting to ensure they have enough to eat, or that they are protected from other wolves. She has a pack mentality, though she really doesn't know the true mechanics of a working, adult pack. Though that is not to say that she would choose staying alone over being part of a pack.
At times, she may be seen attempting to care for younger wolves she comes across, whether they want it or not. She may hunt something up for a meal, or even offer shelter from the elements. It's not that she has a hero complex, but simply that she wishes to pass on the treatment she received as a younger pup. Perhaps it's odd, her mothering ways towards younger canines, though there is no malice in her actions.. Naivety maybe, but no malice.
She does have a mean streak in her.. Something altogether carnal and feral.. and if she feels a threat to her pack, those she uses her large, muscular form to protect, or herself.. she will not hesitate to do whatever she must to keep them safe. Even if it means meeting the other wolf in singular combat and becoming a ruthless, bloodthirsty fighter.
Biography:
She's a three year old loner who fell behind on a hunt due to an injury in which an Elk managed to spear her through with one of his antlers. The wound has since healed, and thankfully caused nothing but pain due to the wound being in her shoulders. Due to the infection, she lost quite a bit of weight and time - Because of this her pack moved on without her. Left alone, another pack found her and raised her to better health, though she was not entirely healthy when she was once more left on her own. Since she is no longer a member of a pack, Vlar is doing her best to find enough game and water to get back to a more.. healthy weight. She's had run ins with a few wolf packs on her travels, but generally tried to steer clear of them. For now she's simply doing her best to keep moving, possibly in search of her own pack or another willing to take her now that she's recovered from the wound.
