The hunt had gone well, with tummies full and the mood abit lightened. But one knew it would not last long as all things do. Nothing could ever be the same forever, this Nina had learned. Not even love could hold out for a life time in eternity. Somewhere along the line life had said it was time to end it, throw chaos and despair at them. The peaceful wonderful like back in their old home was burned to ashes, lives taken, love shattered, leaving behind those in sorrow, grief, guilt, and others empty. Nina sighed, she had hoped a pack hunt might have brought her shatter pack together, get them back on the path of recovering. But alas it had not worked, she had heard Gawain and Jarl fight, watching from the distance, seeing Jarl, her trust friend, her mate's right hand, turn and vanish into the night. She had not gone to stop him, who was she after all to hold one against their will if they were not an enemy?
The alpha in her had slipped away, her mind was always trapped on the memories of her mate and other pups. Oh how it pained her when she had heard their cries and scream of pain, burning alive and them to have humans fall upon the charred bodies. Sure she was grateful Riot was alive, only by pure luck that the black pup had be away from the den at the time.Riot's adventure away from the den had for once done the opposite, and saved her life. There had been so many times she had to be saved, the bear, the river, suck in a thorn bush, the list had gone on.
Amber pelted female padded on heavy paws that dragged on the ground. The cool night was a relief from the heat during the day.Flame colored orbs trailed the ground, wishing she was seeing the ground of her old home, but instead it was the open land of grass and rocks. Though the terrain was tough it offered plenty of prey, that is if she had enough members to take down a bison of large deer. Without enough members then they would have to feed on rabbits and small game. Even now thinking of food made her stomach growl but then twist and flopped in her failed attempt to bring the pack together. She was now left with three males and a pup. The thought of being surrounded by males gave her a chill. One could try to take her mate's place, force her to step down or force breed her. The thought angered her, making a loud rumble erupt from her throat. To hell with any male that would try it. For now she knew Sylph would not do anything, he was her beta, loyal and calm friend.
Paws stopped as she reached the lake, her reflecting staring right back at her. With a huff she sat her rump down. Mind still wondered on her members. Fang and Christoph might be the ones she needed to keep her eyes on, well of course she would anyways. She had yet to form a bond with them like she had with Jarl and Sylph. Jarl, the older strong male, she was so lost as to what she would do without him. Christoph was the only gamma now, she had one elipson, one gamma, a beta, and her pup. If this pack was to stay with the tradition of being huge, strong and fierce..Nine shook her head, they were so far from that. The hopes of restoring the pack was slowly slipping away.
The Alphess looked down at herself in shame, how could she have let thing fall apart like this? Was it all because her mate was gone, making her realize she was after all not really alpha material? No..some part in her mind whispered that it was not true. Every alpha had their moment were they fall, burn to ashes, but in time come back ever strong and better than before. Some part of her was at rest, knowing that her old home would in time grown back, the her member's bodies would help nourish the land and bring it back. They would live there within the forest, being part of it. A small smile crossed her muzzle, eyes closed and she seemed to nod her head in agreement to those thoughts.
Somehow she had to make this pack stronger, bring them back. She had remembered the alphas before her and her mate would take the whole pack on a run around the whole territory when things seemed to fall apart. It had always brought everyone together in the end. She would have to talk to Sylph to see what he had to say on the subject. She had better as well talk to each member alone about it too while she was at it. Either way though, she would make them go on the run, even lil Riot. The pup needed to start being more involved in the pack.
