Kain, who had been out looking for Reflection, heard first Jarl's howl. He thought nothing of this howl as he continued to follow the she-wolf's scent towards the river. He was determined to find the only wolf to anchor some saneness in his insane world. He continued to pad along quietly with his nose to the ground but when he heard Reflection's howl of despair he froze.
The small black wolf growled lowly and narrowed his eyes before starting to run towards the river, his small body running swiftly and silently over the ground.
As he grew closer he heard the gunshots and that made his start to move even faster. A human was trying to hurt her! No one would hurt the one he considered to be his own.
He flew into where Jarl and Reflection were but was hidden within some bushes and downwind from the two. He frowned deeply at seeing the huge brute there.
Why was she nuzzling him and licking him?! At seeing that, the small wolf's blood began to boil. He growled lowly within his chest and started out of the bushes but froze at hearing that he had saved her. He frowned faintly and flattened his ears. This brute saved her. He saved the one that kept Kain anchored to saneness. Kain himself should have been with her! She could never love him now, not when this brute was the one to save her.
Kain sighed softly and started to inch back, his tail between his legs. He would return to the pack lands and just hide there. He went to turn and flinched upon stepping on a twig, causing a resounding snap that echoed through the trees.
OOC: Sorry about the late post.......had no net for a while.

Her ears flicked back. Something was behind them. She smelt the air. It was hard to tell but Another wolf was with them, and not just any other wolf either.
"Kain?" She called out, hoping he would answer. Why was he here? He didn't care about her like she cared about him...so what was the male doing here? She limped away from jarl, but indicated for him to follow. She followed the scent. She was sure it was the male. "Kain....Wait up. I can't move very fast at the moment." She had to catch up to him and Find out why he was here.
He never really was around her, much less watching her. She prayed he would slow down so that she could catch up. It was hard for her to move. She could just imagine seeing him. He would probably say it was good riddence that she was going or that she had almost died.
She had no clue why she was following him, but she had to know. She had to know If he had heard her, If he actually cared. that was the only other explaination that seemed to fit. "Kain, You hot head, WAIT UP" She growled.
He was fast for a little brute, either that or she was farther away then she thought she had been in the first place. He couldn't have been that far off....Could he? He was small so it wasn't easy to find in the first place.

It had all happened so fast. Jarl could hardly remember even what had happened. he struggled, and things came back to him in flashes. He had lunged at the human, murderous intent through out his being. His teeth had connected with the soft, giving flesh of the human. Finally, finally he had goten the revenge he needed, the revenge he deserved. These people, these creatures, these things has killed the only things he had ever cared about, and now, finally he had taken something of theirs in return.
He snarled at the corpse below him, warning in his eyes. This thing had threatened his responsability, his own kind, and he had put a stop to it. Silver eyes winced as Jarl felt a sharp, buring pain in his shoulder. He cocked his head and looked at it. The human had made one, final, futile attempt to disarm his attacker. Jarl snorted, the wound wasn't deep, and would heal easily enough.
“Jarl” Jarl glanced up from the body of the dead hunter, to see Reflection. He smiled, a rare thing nowadays, white daggers glinting in the moonlight. He felt the blood drying on his muzzle and licked it off, his brain both puzzled and curious at taste of it. It was so unlike wolf blood, and yet, at the same time, similar. In just one eve the brute had managed to get both wolf and human blood in his maw, and it was a taste he was not yet sure if he enjoyed. He felt the femme nuzzle him, and lick his shoulder. He was surprised that she seemed to have snapped from her bout of madness, surprised and pleased. He backed away slightly when she licked his cheek, intimacy was a foreign thing to him, and he wasn’t sure what to think of it, or do.
"Come with me. Join my pack. Raj would like someone that would harm a human so viciously." Join her pack? Jarl started at this request. He still had much to learn about the packs around here…and he still felt as if he belonged to Cian, even if he could never go back, not after what he had done. Attacking a fellow pack-mate in cold blood was not something easily forgiven. His head lowered. What was it Gawain had said? They didn’t care about him, not one lick. He was nothing but a drag on the pack, keeping them from moving on. The great brute heaved a sigh, if they didn’t want him, then he would go on without them. He would join this femme’s pack.
He nodded to Reflection, indicating that he would, if the Alpha would accept him.
Jarl’s ears perked at the sound of a twig snapping, and he whirled in the direction of the intruder, great jaws parted and snarl bubbling from his chest. His silver eyes searched the surrounding area, afraid another hunter had returned.
But then Reflection was calling out to this wolf, and Jarl caught the tones in her voice when she said his name…he followed her, slightly more at ease. For he knew that he could not, would never be expected to be more to this she-wolf then the brother she had lost so long ago. He didn’t think he was ready for a relationship with another, and wasn’t sure he even knew how.
However, his eyes bright again in the moonlight saw plainly that Reflection was trying desperately to catch up with this wolf, probably a pack-mate, and so, he ran ahead, hoping to save her injured legs. He managed to somewhat catch up with the wolf.
“Please, wait.” He hoped the brute would. It would not be good for Reflection to be chasing this black phantom all over the lands in her condition.

Kain sighed and slowed as Reflection called out to him, however when Jarl ran up to him and told him to stop he growled lowly and snapped his jaws at the large brute, "Stay away from me!" He snapped, his neon eyes narrowed in displeasure, "You do not belong here old one! get out now before I get even angrier at you." He growled as he moved into a pouncing position.
He knew Reflection wouldn't be happy with him attempting to attack this brute after he had saved her, but he didn't like the smell and look of this brute, something about him made the gamma's blood boil.
He bared his fangs at the brute and let out a low snarl before moving back towards Reflection, his eyes and stance visibly softening, "What are you doing out here again Reflection?" He asked softly as he moved to allow her to lean on him, "You know it's dangerous to be out here alone." He said as he leaned down to lick her foreleg.
He was ignoring Jarl now and was intent on getting the wounded femme back to the dens where he could have her lay down.

She growled at Kain. "Kain!...Jarl saved me...You should be grateful. Stop being so jealous." She limped over to the bigger brute. "Are you ok Jarl?"
She leaned against him. The loss of so much blood was making her feel really light headed. "Jarl....I'm....I'm sorry for his behavior... The world was beggining to dim.
She had taken all of the weight off of her bad legs. Her breathing was getting heavier. "Kain....We need to bring him to Raij...He would be...a good......Hunter" She stopped talking. She concentrated on staying awake. She closed her eyes. Her breathing had gotten really heavy. "The moon is sure pretty" She collasped on the ground.
It was dark where she was dreaming. Then two wolves appeared in the dream...One was Jarl and the other Kain. They were on either side of her. She looked at both of them. It seemed like she had to choose between them. She couldn't choose between them. Jarl was kind and caring, but Kain was super smart and a strong fighter.
Why are you making me choose? They both were silent. They stood like living statues. she broke down and started to cry. She couldn't choose. SHe didn't want to make that choice not now, not ever. "Please don't make me chose guys..."

The massive brute backed up quickly as the smaller black wold growled and snapped at him. He didn't wish to cause any fights or disagreements, at least not until--
Old one? Sure he was older then the others, but not nearly -that- old. Jarl lowered his head and snarled dangerously. Who was this brute to tell him what to do on unclaimed territory. Jarl would die before he ran from such a pathetic opponent.
But his shock only grew as the black wolf completely ignored him and ran over to the femme. He was ready to teach this wolf a lesson, a lesson as to why you should never turn your back on someone you'd just insulted and pissed off, but his anger fled as Reflection struggled to stay conscious and speak, and then colapsed to the ground.
Jarl looked at Kain. He didn't like this wolf's unfounded agression towards him, but if they were going to get her back to the pack's territory safely, they would have to find some way to work together. He lowered his ears and tail, and approached the brute.
"Please...she's injured. We need to get her back quickly. I can carry her, only I don't know the way." Being his former pack's gamma male, he hated having to lower himself to others...but...Reflection's safety meant everything to him. She was his responsiblity now, and he was determined to take care of her, whatever the costs.
"I do not intend you, the femme, or your pack any harm. Please allow me to help?"
OOC: okay, I'm gonna say we close this thread up soon, and start a new one in Rafaern. Somehow, all three of us need to find Tempest. Either we can carry Ref. or she can wake up, and whoever wants to can lead jarl back.
Just lemme know what's going on, and who wants to start (or not start ) the thread in Rafaern.
